The eMeet is back - 27th January

The snow is back and so is the eMeet...

Following the first event in December, which was a roaring success with some of the best and brightest people from the eCommerce industry in attendance.

The next eMeet is taking place on 27th January and is being hosted by Hill & Knowlton at 20 Soho Square (W1A 1PR).
A big thanks to Hill & Knowlton for sponsoring the next eMeet. The role of the sponsors in the eMeet is twofold:
  1. To provide something of real value to eCommerce professionals
  2. To ensure the evening is free to attend for all

As a market leader in communications for leading technology and retail brands, Hill & Knowlton will be on hand to offer advice on communications for eCommerce businesses in the coming year. Please check out their website here.

The agenda for this eMeet is as follows:

6.00pm to 6.30pm - Registration at 20 Soho Square, W1A 1PR

6.30pm to 7.30pm - Drinks

7.30pm - 7.45pm - Welcome and brief keynote speech by Hill & Knowlton

7.45pm onwards - Networking and idea sharing

As with the first event, the eMeet is a free to attend networking event, aimed at the connecting eCommerce professionals. It's an evening where eCommerce professionals can strengthen and build their network and share ideas.

Places are limited so please RSVP as soon as you can to steve@theemeet.co.uk or brian@theemeet.co.uk. Ideally, each person who attends should bring someone also in the eCommerce industry, to really kick start the networking and idea sharing.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The First eMeet - we're up and running!

I'd like to thank everyone who came along to the first eMeet on Wednesday. The aim of the eMeet is to bring people from the eCommerce industry together to swap ideas, expand networks and incubate new business ideas and I think it's far to say it delivered on all these areas!

Now we're up and running, it's time to plan the next event. We were so oversubscribed for the first event that we're looking for a new and larger venue!

Thanks to viagogo for sponsoring the event, without their contribution it wouldn't have been possible.

The details of the next event are as follows:

Date: 27th January 2010
Venue: TBC
Sponsor: TBC
RSVP: Email steve@theemeet.co.uk or follow us on twitter and @theemeet

Please RSVP as soon as you can to book your place at the next event. Remember, it's free to attend and the idea is that you bring other people you know from the industry, so RSVP for yourself and others.

If you would like to sponsor the event please get in touch - it's your chance to speak directly to the best and brightest from the eCommerce industry in a unique environment - no jargon, no sales agendas, just like minded people looking to connect with other like minded people.

You can keep up to date with the latest information about the eMeet by signing up to our email newsletter or following 'theemeet' on twitter

The First eMeet - connecting eCommerce People

The eMeet is being organised by the eGroup, an organisation that wants to make it easier for eCommerce professionals to meet and share ideas. The idea for eMeet came from some research conducted by the eGroup that found 87% of eCommerce professionals did not get value for money from the conferences they attended and that 75% felt compelled to pay to attend conferences in order to meet other eCommerce professionals.

The idea behind the eMeet is to bring together people working in ecommerce and online marketing to strengthen current relationships, make new contacts, incubate new business ideas, and share experiences without the cost of attending a conference or there being a sales agenda.

The aim is to bring together leading the eCommerce industry forward in many different ways, who recognize the benefit of meeting others in the same industry.

viagogo are kindly sponsoring the first event in order to ensure that the event is free to attend.

The ideal scenario is that every person who attends brings someone with them who also works in eCommerce or online marketing, to really kick start the experience sharing and new idea generation.

You could even use this as a way to catch up with some of your contacts by inviting them.

The details of the first event are:

What: The E-Meet
When: 2nd December 2009, from 6pm
Where: Soho House, 40 Greek St, London

Numbers are limited, so please RSVP to steve@theemeet.co.uk if you’d like to attend as soon as possible including the names of people you’d like to bring.
